I'm just wondering if any of the guys and gals at club play Kings of War by Mantic Games, I've been meaning to check it out for a while but I need to know if anyone knows the rules and would be willing to teach me?
I downloaded it a whileback, looks like a fast and simple game which is good for me as I can get confused between the various game systems I play. I am up for trying a game, got plenty of fantasy miniatures to use:)
I've played it. It's a great game for huge battles, and the new factions look great and have appropriate rules. The game is well balanced and places more emphasis on battle tactics than army build. It follows the bucket of dice mechanic, but offers better pacing than GW games.
I prefer AoA for its wider army selection and less abstract rules, but KoW/Warpath are fun.
After reading over the basic rules last night and looking at the new trange of miniatures, I really want to give this a go at the club. I want to get into more fantasy based wargaming as I have 3 basic armies that I never seem to use that much?
Anyone wanting to try KoW can give it a go at War Torn, their pathfinder team will be attending with the new figures, and Mantic's range will be available to buy.
We had a go at warpath ages ago, which I believe is pretty much the same. Seemed very simple. The most unusual thing is how you don't lose casualties, just accumulate morale penalties until the whole unit breaks and runs away.So you could model them all on a single base.

Think i may invest in a rulebook and some of the new range and see if I can get a KOW following at the club:)
