While a disaster for the fans, all the stuff I buy is long OOP anyway.
There is a growing cottage industry for 3D printed alt figs, seen some nice BFG ships and 6mm figs. Bloodbowl is well covered by third parties, as is Necromunda and Mordheim.
They also seem to be retiring the classic stuff like guard and dogs of war.
They have been doing this for a good year or two. (arguably, for about eight years, but less severely.)
They don't replace broken molds. They stopped casting. Its only because someone suddenly noticed things going out of stock and told the internet that the buying frenzy happened.
Arguably, it might make GW reconsider, and do some rereleasing of the games, given they probably just saw hundreds of thousands of pounds of stock vanish...
It's regrettable that they seem almost ashamed of their older games. Bloodbowl has at least 49 open tournaments in the UK this year, more than when it was supported in stores. Probably more than Warhammer too.
Could be a good thing. When GW supported the games, albeit minimally, people were constrained by what was 'official'. Now that the games are dead people might be a bit more adventurous.

I should buy those epic terminators I've been meaning to for the last 10 years...
