http://www.martianfront.com/home Just found this link while browsing my Facebook. Looks like a bit of a larf, but I have been caught out by looks before. Anybody know anything about it?
No Andy Chambers. Unlike their last project Fantacide, this is conspicuously missing Andy from the credits. Adeptus Titanicus is what got him into GW, and he went on to development the supplements for Space Marine, and later helped with Epic 40K. This is right up his street.
Explicit scale creep. Their site describes it as "15 mm (18mm)". If you look at the 20mm Rough riders on Harleys, they account for the helmet. Once you knock that off and factor in the men standing it should reach about 18mm. It isn't heroic scale, and they make it clear they intend to sculpt realistic proportions. A long time ago, HG Wells advocated the use of smaller scales but I doubt he imagined the confusing mess we see today.
On the plus side, 18mm is very close to 1:87 scale, which means HO track/train sets are compatible.
